Addison Laughs!

The week started off perfect!!! Addison laughed for the very first time!

Look at those teeth!
It wasn't just a one time thing she did it more throughout the week. It was a dream come true for us. When you have a child who has special needs and you have been told that they will never be able to talk to you and wont know who you are it is a sense of defeat when that child communicates to you through a laugh. I want to go back to the NICU and have Addison laugh in the face of that doctor who said she would not communicate with us. We realize that just because she laughs doesn't mean she will ever be able to speak to us and that is fine! We now have a new form of communication with Addison. I tickle her, talk to her, or do funny things to her and she will giggle! A few members of the family have got to witness Addison laugh and the other ones are working on it! With the technology today the Facebook world got to witness the laugh and everyone agreed it was contagious!
How could you not love her!
In the end I couldn't have asked for anything more! If there is a lesson learned here it is to never take a laugh for granted. Not everyone in the world is blessed to hear that sound from their children.
